HOMEMADE LIP BALM
Equal parts beeswax & coconut oil, 10 drops tea tree oil, 3
drops lavender oil, 2 vitamin E soft gels and a tiny bit fresh aloe gel.
Microwave (you can also do this on the stove top with a container
inside a pot of warm water instead of the microwave) beeswax &
coconut oil until melted. Stir together and add your favorite flavors.
In this case tea tree oil & lavender oil. Puncture a hole in the
vitamin E tabs, squeeze into mixture. Add aloe gel. Mix and pour into
empty lip balm containers.
Cool and enjoy!
Homemade Tea Tree ( or any essential oil of your choice) Deodorant
1.5 tbsp beeswax
4 tbsp shea butter
1 tbsp cocoa butter
4 tsp clay
20-25 drops of tea tree, or tea tree plus another oil of your choice. (I used some lavender too)
Measure the beeswax, cocoa butter and shea butter into a microwavable container. Microwave on high for 1-3 minutes or until melted. Stir to finish the melting down into a clear liquid. Stir in your clay (kaolin or bentonite clay have lighter colors. I used red clay bc that's all my store had) until the mixture is nice and smooth. Add your essential oils & stir.
Prep a chilly ice bath: Large bowl with a few cups of cold water and a cup of ice.
Set your container with the melted deodorant in the ice bath. Stir the deodorant mixture slowly while you let it start to cool down and thicken a bit. When it's just cooled off, but still drippy, pour into your container.
Let sit for 10 minutes then pop into the freezer for 30 minutes. Then let it return to room temp, cap it up and use lightly as needed.
Homemade laundry detergent (Safe for HE washers)
I used 1 cup borax, 1 cup washing soda, 4 gallons hot water and 1 1/2 bars of Fels-Naptha bar soap (there is also a brand called Zote that a lady on a video I watched used and she loved it). Grate your soap bar and place in 5 gallon bucket. Add 4 gallons of hot steaming tap water. Stir. Add your borax & washing soda. Continue to stir. Mixture will start to thicken after about 30 min to 1 hour. Pour into individual containers of your choosing. Store in laundry room. I use about 2 tablespoons per load in my HE washer. Works wonderful.

P.S. Add an essential oil of your choice for a great smell! I use this recipe without the added scent but Purification, Tea Tree or Lavender are great oils to use.
